Shelley Barreca

Shelley Blais Barreca RN, BSN, is a local New Orleanian who graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. Shelley began her career as an Oncology Nurse and provided compassionate and comforting care to her patients and families. Shelley transitioned into Hospice and Palliative care in 2000, and has found it to be a true calling and considers it a privilege to care for patients and families in their greatest time of need. Shelley has developed protocols and clinical pathways for her patients to provide the highest standards of care for her patients based on this experience. She is a founding member of the Magnolia Chapter of Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association in 2003 and has served as a Steering Committee Member, Treasurer and most recently as President in 2010 and 2011. She now serves as VP of Operations for Passages Hospice as well as Director of Development for Life is a Legacy Foundation.
